Learning disabilities involve neurodevelopmental disorders which can affect emotion, learning ability, self-control, and memory. Individuals with a learning disability might experience difficulties relating to reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), mathematics (dyscalculia), or a combination.

These impairments can range from mild to severe and may include difficulties with memory, attention, executive functions and emotional regulation.
